Midweek Social
Track 8 at Carriage Works hosted Midweek Social, a flirty and fun-filled evening of live performance, board games and prizes. The evening kicked-off with relaxing drinks and a spot of mingling with great company. As the night went on great music, performances and entertainment ensued with the chance to win a host of retro prizes given.

Midweek Social was hosted by the infamous voice-over artist Robbie McGregor. The entertainment line-up included three-piece alt-rock band The Knife Waltz whose daring burlesque performance had the audience enrapt. An astrologist was on hand to forecast futures and a range of games and challenges took place throughout the night.
Photographers John and Joy created wacky and wonderful portraits in the photobooth all night long. Props and costumes were available and a make-up artist was on hand for extra dazzle.
Winners of all games had the opportunity to pick a prize from the well-stacked prize table. Games included a paper plane race, a Rubik’s Cube challenge, various board games and Twister albeit drunken, among others.

As part of Liveworks
I developed Midweek Social as part of my artist-in-residence at the National Art School in Sydney in 2007. This is the second outing for the work, which included installations, performances, screenings and, most importantly, fun.
Midweek Social received P4 Pilot Project Funding, a Performance Space/PICA/Australia Council collaboration.
